I thought I deleted newdot, but now when my computer reboots, I get an error message:
Error loading C:\program\.....\Newdot~2.dll
The specified module could not be found.

I also get a message:

Devices or applications disabled'
"directcd" will cause windows to become unstable. Windows has prevented these drivers from loading. Click for more details.

Of course, when I click, the information does me no good and DirectCD is not listed as programs I can delete in the control panel.

How do I stop this from happening?

THank. :tazz:

Hello and welcome to Geeks to Go! :tazz: I'm kool808 .

NewDotNet is a malware, in order to remove it :

First, Download LSPFix.exe to a convenient location. Do NOT run this program. This is only to be used if you lose Internet Access after removing NewDotNet.

To Get rid of NewDotNet, go to:

Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs and remove the following:

New.Net Applications or New.Net Domains (anything that says New.Net)

If it is not there, go here and follow Procedure 4: NewDotNet.

In the event that you lose Internet access after removing New.Net, please double-click LSPFix.exe that you downloaded earlier. You will see 2 panels. If there is any file listed in the "Remove" panel on the right-side, leave it as is and just click "Finish>>" then reboot your computer and you should now have access to the Internet. If nothing is listed under the "Remove Panel", do NOT do anything - just close the program. You will need to use another computer to come back here for further instructions on what to do.
==========================

We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool HiJackThis, read the short tutorial HERE

Post a log as a new topic in the Malware Removal Forum. It will get a better response there from the people most qualified to analyze logs.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.
