Hello, I thought a solution to my problem and I would like your opinions.

I have a laptop with Windows 10. I have to install 2 software that when are both installed my system crashes.

I have already software_1 installed. I thought to install software_2 in a virtualbox guest.

My question : is it possible to grab image from my win 10 system and use it, to create guest system?

Will it be possible to have windows 10 inside itself?

My concern is about authedication and if I will be caught by microsoft for authedication theft

Secondly if this is possible, i read that I have to make image with dd software.

Has anyone used it?

Thanks in advance!!!

A virtual machine has the same licensing requirements as a regular computer. Yes, you can create an image with any imaging program and restore it to virtual machine, but you still need to follow license requirements. My favorite imaging programs are Acronis true image, Macrium reflect, or EaseUs To do backup.
