Aptiva reports that my W10 Desktop has two outdated apps that are potentially vulnerable and should be replaced with newer versions: iTunes 12.7.0166 and Mozilla Firefox 44.02.

Question: Does the downloading process automatically remove the older version or must I first manually remove the older versions before I download the newer versions?

Thanks. ... batpark

It is recommended to update from the same applications, since they are connected to your server and when you detect that there are updates, you can do it in Mozilla, from menu --- help --- version information and if there are changes, download them.

In iTunes it is the same procedure. Good luck with that.

How to update iTunes: https://support.appl.../en-au/HT201352

How to update Freifox: https://support.mozi...-latest-version

I haven't seen any issues with old versions remaining on my system. You can always check the before and after via Add/Remove programs.

Click Start > Type Add or Remove > Click Add or Remove Programs. Look at what version is installed (write it down), go through the update procedures, check the new version numbers (or just check they match the latest version).

If you go to the official website and find the update page, your software will be updated automatically, and you will not be left with junk files.
