Hi

Can I ask if anyone can advise in ref to ESET Anti Virus....

when I looked at it.... there are two options to use it for free.... as I think that I understand ..

one being a one off scan, that I think can be done direct in connection to their website...

and another option to have a free 30 day trail...

The 30 day trial seems a much better option...no doubt, but I think or if I recall from a past prior trial...I had on another computer ... that you have download the software..

and after I had used it.... what I found was that I was unable to delete complete files and it left something perminently on my lower right hand side icons.. that kept showing up when I as online..

I have never been able to get rid of it and it can be a pain and may be creating some problems when I now use my old laptop..

but if I recall.. it did do a very good job when I used it in finding viruses other Anti virus programs could not find..

I am not sure how the one off online scan may compare...I suspect it will help find viruses ok... and at least you wont wont have it left on ones Computer...

and which you use... I suspect that maybe if you have used either option before in your name or from your ISP... that it wont allow you to try it again...for free..

OR maybe it will allow you to use one of the other options out of the two that you have not tried before...

I just wondeed if anyone has any advice or thoughts on what maybe the best option to consider or if there is any other way to sign up for a 2nd free trial...if you have say used it with another computer in the past..

or maybe that only prevent a 2nd trial for a set period of time... for eg say 5 yrs ago... then they may allow you to use it again... or if you have changed yourISP since..

I think that they do require your real name and address details etc...

Also has anyone else found that they could not fully delete or remove ESET after the 30 day trial... or is there a way to do so later if one finds how to do it...

Thank you

Thanks for the links SpywareDR

I thought initially that it was looking possible to uninstall ESET either thru control panel / add and remove programs or thru an uninstall option in program files or left or right click on its icon...

but in doing so.... that it still left part of it on ones system and did not fully remove it all...

so I would not have expected ESET to have offered also another type of uninstall software option on their support site..

Depending if you have tried it in the past or are familiar with it...  I thought maybe it could be seen as one of the better AV programs available or recommended..

Would you know that if you have had a trial of ESET already and want to uninstall it.. in what ever way (or via the link you gave to uninstall it )...

as it was say from a 30 day trial... do you think by totally removing it via that link.... that maybe it will allow you to take a further 30 day trial with it...

or do you think that ESET have a way to detect that someone has already took a free trial and that they wont allow you to take another...for free...

such as maybe it will recognise ones ISP... or maybe (I cannot recall) you have to sign up in a way where you have to give your true real details...

ie name , address.. as well as email ..... but I wondr could you have a 2nd trial using another email address ?

thank you..

Sorry but I cannot participate in any "how to circumvent rules|restrictions" discussions.

I'm out.

Sorry if I referred to part of my post / question to a questionable topic in relation to ESET...in ref to seeing if the software deleted the whole past data or may have allowed one to take a 2nd trial in full..

If that part if off topic.... I was just wondering if anyone could have advised what option maybe best choice.. or if you tend to be totally restricted if you have already tried one option that they then will

prevent one using the other option...

so in that case if you can take one choice... as to which one may seem the better.... I assume the 30 day trial..

but if you have had a 30 day trial in the past... Will you ten be able to take a one off online trial ?
