I want to build something that will enable me to use Unreal Engine 4.1 to try to create my own video game...

I will upload screenshots of my amazon.com shopping cart.

:welcome:   Arsonist1980,

Ok... I guess I can't post pics.. anyways, cpu is an Intel i7 7800x.

Overkill for your intended use but if you are set on such a spec of CPU would suggest an i7-8700K instead, advantages over the 7800x include uses less power, faster, compatible with 2666MHz RAM and gives you a wider choice of MBs, the one disadvantage is the maximum RAM amount of 64GB, hardly a worry atm as you will not need anywhere near this.

Some CPU benchmarks here

Let us know your maximum budget and we will put a suggested parts list together for you.

Good choice of CPU but not the MB, first page of reviews here would put me off.

Updated CPU benchmarks

Define "budget"

Can`t suggest anything without knowing the specs of all of the other hardware, you should also keep in mind that there needs to be a balance between the hardware else you will end up bottlenecking the faster hardware.

Ok. I will look at other motherboards with am4 compatibility.

As far as the GPU is concerned, I was looking at an ASUS GEFORCE GTX 1070 I belive was the model...

This one here to be exact...

https://www.amazon.c...dxtL&ref=plSrch

Again, let me take another look at motherboards...

Always best to get the opinion of verified owners of a product, see reviews here only 40% giving a 5 egg rating for a board costing over 200 bucks

An ASrock x370 taichi. It will be mated to an AMD Ryzen 7 1700x. I'm then going to look at a gtx 1080... probably either Nvidia or ASUS... is it worth dropping extra cash on a ti?

I want some thing that will spit out 4k graphics, because I will be gaming on it, however the main focus of this desktop will be to mess around on Unreal engine, rage and Unity...

U would like to try my hand at creating games as a hobby...

Also open to suggestions for other parts such as SSD, RAM, CPU COOLING, and PSU...

Please do not start new threads when you already have an active thread regarding the same question/s or computer issue/s, your two threads have been merged so as to avoid any possible confusion as to who`s and what guidance you are following, thank you for understanding.

ASRock MBs can be hit and miss but I did like the look of and the Newegg reviews of the x370 taich.

ASUS and EVGA are two brands that I usually go for, the GTX 1080 is a monster (it should be for the price) but also worth a look if you can get one is the GTX 1070Ti

Post your maximum budget for the remaining parts and whether or not you will need to purchase a case and Windows 10.
