Hi all,

I want to start using my microphone port on my HP laptop. I have Windows 7 and tried the how to guides and got it working straight throught to my laptop speakers which is what I am after but there is a horrid echo I tried turning the volume down thinking it was feed back but didn't work.

Is there any ideally free EQ programs ideally free which would do the above intentions ideally with an adjustable reverb option? I intend to use the input for Karaoke and Disco work.

Thanks Richard

can you provide model details for your hp laptop?  Your using an external mic plugged into the laptop.  Is it a mini plug (1/8 stereo) or usb?  If your doing "live" music (DJ) then I would suggest a good headset with mic.  Can you provide more details on the mic itself?
