Welcome neight to Geeks to Go!

Using that self help page helped you a bit. There is still enough rubbish hanging around on your computer to get problems.

Please follow this advise to the letter.

Disable Spysweeper for the duration of this advise.

Open it click >Options over to the left then >program options >Uncheck "load at windows startup".
Over to the left click "shields" and uncheck all there.
Uncheck "home page shield".
Uncheck 'automaticly restore default without notifiction".
Reverse the process when you’ve carried out the advise.

***

Please read these instructions carefully. You may want to print them as we will perform most of this advise in safe mode.
Be sure to follow ALL instructions!

Download CleanUp!.
If that doesn’t work, use this link.
Here is a tutorial which describes its usage:
http://www.bleepingc...tutorial93.html

Find and doubleclick the file cleanup.

Go to option
Select ‘custom’
Put a check to:* Cookies
* Prefetch
* Temp
* All users.
Press 'cleanup!'

Once it's done, press Close. Reboot the system. This will remove files that were in use during the scan.

***

Download, install, and update Ewido Security Suite
  • Install ewido security suite
  • Launch ewido, there should be a big E icon on your desktop, double-click it.
  • The program will prompt you to update click the OK button
  • The program will now go to the main screen
You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
  • On the left hand side of the main screen click update
  • Click on Start
The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
After the updates are installed, exit Ewido

***

Open HijackThis
Go to ‘config’
Go to ‘misc tools’
Press the button ‘open uninstall manager’
In the list find:
SpySheriff
Weatherbug
ISTbar / ISTsvc

Press ‘delete this entry’.
Close HijackThis.

***

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site:
http://www.pchell.co.../safemode.shtml

***

Make sure you are disconnected from the Internet and that all programs and windows are closed. Run HiJackThis. Place a check next to the following items, if found, and click FIX CHECKED:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [LYoxkeQdx] C:\WINDOWS\mxaho.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Daily Weather Forecast] C:\Program Files\Daily Weather Forecast\weather.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Á³# L"h'þ9Óœð3rÅWC:\Program Files\ISTsvc\istsvc.exe] C:\WINDOWS\mxaho.exe

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Windows installer] C:\winstall.exe

Close HiJackThis.

***

Delete the following, in bold, if found:

C:\Program Files\SpySheriff <-whole folder
C:\Program Files\ISTsvc\ <-whole folder
C:\Program Files\Daily Weather Forecast\ <-whole folder
C:\Windows\Desktop.html
C:\winstall.exe
C:\WINDOWS\mxaho.exe

Let me know if any of these cannot be found

***
  • Run Ewido.
  • Click on scanner
  • Make sure the following boxes are checked before scanning:
    • Binder
    • Crypter
    • Archives
  • Click on Start Scan
  • Let the program scan the machine
While the scan is in progress you will be prompted to clean the first infected file it finds. Choose "clean", then put a check next to "Perform action on all infections" in the left corner of the box so you don't have to sit and watch Ewido the whole time. Click OK.

Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
  • Click Save report
  • Save the report to your desktop
Reboot into normal mode.

***

RIGHT-CLICK HERE and go to Save As (in IE it's "Save Target As") in order to download the smitfraud reg to your desktop. [Be sure to use this new version]

Double-click smitfraud.reg on your desktop. When asked if you want to merge with the registry click YES. After the merged successfully prompt, please reboot your computer.

***

Post a new HiJackThis log and the scanlog using Ewido.

EDIT:
As there has been no reply from the original poster for more than two weeks this topic is now closed.

If you are the original poster and still need assistance, please send me a PM.
