Hey guys.

My laptop has had some problems related to the Hard Drive this last day's.

When I started the computer Windows started to do a scan and repair on the disk and it took over 12 hours to finish. Then the computer has working normally and faster than before.

Next day I started getting this error on startup: 28547568_2011451798895319_2046826018_o.jpg

My F1 is not working on the native laptop keyboard and I can´t find a way to access BIOS. I can´t even resume to Windows, the only command working is Ctrl+Alt+Del and it restarts the system.

Hope you can help me open BIOS.

Thank you.

Hi Think2Ice and welcome to our forums,

:welcome:

If I have read your screen dump correctly then it looks like your hard drive is bad..... :(

Frankly I would not bother trying to get into the BIOS, the top priority should be to check your latest back ups contain everything you need. Validate if you can your last good disc image and then consider your options..... Do you need to copy off any important files that may have escaped your back ups, if so then booting to a live distro of Linux may be an answer, its worth trying as at this stage all we know is that your hard drive is bad having failed the smart check, and there could be a chance that it could be repaired using the manufacturers repair tools.... however the drive is maybe up to 8 or 9 years old and drives do not last forever.

Post back if you need further directions on any of this.

Regards
