Hi there!

I can't open MPP file from my email on iPhone 8. No problem accessing the doc and ppt format files though. What's going on?

please provide a fix.

MPP is the extension associated with Microsoft Project data file so you need an app the is compatible with this format. If not, then you can upload to google drive, etc or transfer to your computer that has Microsoft project or compatible program to open.
