Hi, I am unsure if this is the right place to post; but I deleted AOL from my computer and since then everytime I have opened internet explorer I have received this error message -" cannot find file ///C: program%20files/ AOL%20toolbar/welcome.html - make sure internet path is correct".

I have checked and there are no AOL files being displayed in internet options or on my computer and the internet address is at present the default one (MSN).

I am using MS windows 8.1.

I would welcome any advice or suggestions. Thanks.

Hi,

If you open Internet Explorer by doing the following:

- Press windows8_key.png + R
- on the run window Copy & Paste the command:

iexplore.exe

or

c:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe

Does Internet Explorer opens without the error?

    welcome.html
    AOL toolbar
  • Click the Look button to start the scan.
  • When finished, a notepad window will open with the results of the scan. Please post this log in your next reply.
