Bit of a strange one, please help.

I have used Mozilla T'bird for years and currently have six different gmail accounts ........................ don't ask!

Everything has been good until today when one of my accounts has suddenly become inaccessible, even though I know I have messages there.

All I get is the attached error message;

[attachment=86966:Inbox Error.png]

When I click on that account it only shows an inbox when the account 'expands'.

It used to be like the other accounts in that it had many other folders such as junk, spam, sent mail, deleted etc., etc..

Now it just has an inbox.When I click on that it shows up as empty and I get the above error message.

The error message is always the same except the number changes.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance,

Slime.

When I do that it's okay, I just can't access my emails on that account through Thunderbird!

My other email accounts are all fine in Thunderbird.

Cheers, SpywareDr.

Then my next guess would be there is something not quite right in your Thunderbird settings for that particular account.

My settings have not been changed and they mirror the settings of my other accounts ............................ that's what's confusing me!

Somehow, something changed somewhere.

Have a recent backup you could restore?

Wow. Unfortunately that's the only magic 'fixit' that I can think of.at the moment. I'm afraid you're now stuck with painstakingly wading through gadzillion of settings trying to find the one causing the problem.

I don't know. Maybe someone else will be along with some other ideas to try. Got my fingers crossed ...

Me too.

Thanks for your help, though,

Could you manually export the settings from one of the five working accounts, import them to the bad one, then change any needed settings to make it comply with the original address it's for? I don't know Thunderbird or know any of the details involved, but would think someone more knowledgeable than I could explain it well if the idea is possible.

I hadn't realised that I'd lose my stored addresses until after I'd re-installed Thunderbird, so it was too late by then!

I've ignored that account for a while now.

Yesterday, after a Windows Update, all my accounts failed on my Win 10 machine but worked fine on my XP machine.

LONG LIVE XP!

Anyhow, after uninstalling / reinstalling Thunderbird and a couple of reboots, everything seems fine ......................... including the dormant account.

Suddenly all is well, although I've no idea what the original issue was.

Thanks to all for your help,

Slime.
