I'm attempting to restore data previously backed-up to the WD Backup Drive through the FREE version of EaseUS Data Recovery.

Might it be necessary to apply Microsoft's backup/restore utility, or to use the EaseUS utility?

Can step by step instructions be provided?

Thank-you

You will have to use EaseUs to restore any data backed up with that program. Did you do file backups or image backups?

You will have to use EaseUs to restore any data backed up with that program. Did you do file backups or image backups?

I had applied an older version of EaseUS Todo within the past few years for backup.

The current version of EaseUS 10.6 highlights 'System Backup' as the first step. Other options are: 'Disk/Partition Backup' and 'File Backup.'

I remember applying the 'Smart Backup' feature; hence, I'm uncertain as to whether 'Image Backups' or 'File Backups' applied.

Hope this information can help!

Thank-you

Okay I believe the default is an image backup. Do you currently have Easeus installed? If not download from the link below and then follow one of the guides to restore either your files or the complete image. Let me know if you need more help or have more questions.

When running the EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard, the default drive scanned is drive C:. An option is provided to scan the WD backup drive (Drive D: or Drive E:).  Is it necessary to scan the backup WD backup drive?

Does the Deep Scan take over one-hour to process?

Thank-you

Do you know where your backups are currently located? If not the the scan will help you find them one either c: and or d: drives. Are you wanting to restore the complete image? This will replace everything on your hard drive with this backup so you need to be absolutely sure that is what you want to do. The other option is to only restore the files needed from the backup.

The EaseUS data recovery program applies 'Deep Scan' - a process that is estimated to take three-hours for my data (that includes a lot of image files). Is a three-hour recovery process necessary?

The free version of EaseUS data recovery program limits data recovery to 500MB. Is it necessary to buy EaseUS $70 data recovery program in order to retrieve the backed-up data?

I'm ready to locate another (free, or even low-cost) data recovery program that doesn't limit data recovery to 500 MB!

This only applies to data recovery for lost files? I thought you are trying to recover files from a backup already performed with EaseUs. Please let me know for sure what you are trying to do?

Simply put, I need to transfer the entire contents of the WD hard-drive to another backup site. Might a backup "to the cloud" be helpful?  Any recommendations for specific backup services?

Thank-you

Okay that is different then. So you already have the backup image of the drive created with Easeus? I prefer Backblaze.

It is good for mainly backing up photos and files, but not for a full backup solution like the others offer.
