computer led outline wont come on, but the power led still does

A few weeks ago the led outlines on my computer case turned off, however the computer works fine, and the power led is still on. what is wrong with my computer? (pre-built)

LED outlines on the computer case? It sounds like it is just additional LEDs to make the case more interesting, but is not related to the use of the actual computer inside. Most likely there is a board which controls it and either it has failed or has become disconnected. It should be powered by the normal voltage from the power supply, but it could be done some other way.

 

Providing the make/model and perhaps photos would help to provide more information.

An OEM computer so no info is available on the case that has been used only the basic specs here

 

No mention of any LEDs at the Newegg link, have you had the computer since new, if yes,were the LEDs fitted when you got the computer or were they retro fitted.

 

To investigate what is going on with the LEDs will mean that after the computer has been fully disconnected from the mains power and screen etc the case will have to be opened up, are you ok with doing this.
