Our laptop was purchased in 2010 and myself and my husband and our two children all use it with our own user details.  One of the user details became corrupt and we could not login using that specific user details as we always got an error sign.  This was about two years ago and the other users have still been using the laptop.  We have just realised that we had all our photos on the corrupt user.  When I asked our IT guy at work to see if he could find them - he told me they had already been overwritten (even though they were not deleted) is this the case?

It was the administrator user that was corrupt and it was about two years ago - do you think this might still work?

You have nothing to lose by trying, not sure what the IT guy meant by "they had already been overwritten (even though they were not deleted) "
