I'm sorry, I was stuck on mobile until last night. Also, I didn't think you could edit a post once you post it, so I kept posting to update. If that's the case though, I will conglomerate it. ... Go to the full post »

Sorry for the late reply, and I hope the surgery went well. I've been busy as well.

The reason I wanted to update the bios is that I have heard that it can potentially increase performance. Not that I really have a need to increase performance much anymore seeing as how I cloned my HDD to my very first SSD. I had to uninstall almost all of my programs and re-install them because of errors (I'm assuming the links weren't going to the right place or registry errors of some kind. Regardless, I got it all working again by un-installing and re-installing). So I guess it's not that important, and I haven't notice any errors or glitches.

Thank you. It is up to you but I would probably leave well enough alone for now.

BIOS updates are released for two reasons. 1: To correct a known issue. 2: To allow for hardware upgrades such as a newer version of CPU and in days gone by SSD compatibility etc.

Updating the BIOS when troubleshooting is always a last resort as a failed BIOS flash can leave a person with a MB that is about as much use as a desktop paperweight, dual BIOS should also never be relied upon as a fall back, this because most users would not be attempting to update their version of BIOS unless they were already having issues with the initial version of BIOS on their MB.
