I have a ThinkPad X1 Carbon. I am trying to use it with an external HP monitor, but cant get the thing to STAY connected to the monitor.

Any suggestions ?

Also, there is some debate on the web about upgrading the ram on this model.

I have a 8GB I'd like to drop in; is that possible ?

Ive given up on the monitor.

I could not figure out how to keep the [bleep] thing on.

I am still interested in finding out about installing more ram; is there a way to find out if it will take more ?

A RAM upgrade on that model of computer is not possible as the memory module is soldered onto the MB, some info at the thread here Crucial also advise that the RAM is soldered into the MB, info here
