Hello there :)

I come to you for help in figuring out what's wrong with my computer, and what best to do about it. It all started with my hard drive making a constant loud whirring sound, like it was processing massive data all the time. I replaced my power source and harddrive, and the sound went away but now I'm getting blue screens. Here's the thread on that (thanks to RKinner for the help):

Here's the thing - I'd gotten the occasional blue screen and ignored it for many years, and it usually wasn't a problem again for at least 6 months, often a year or two. But recently it has turned into a regular thing, happening 3 times in the last month.

I'm currently uninstalling and reinstalling some programs to see if that fixes it, but I worry it won't. I have a feeling it's time to do some sorta reformatting and starting fresh, but I want to be sure that doing a factory reset will be enough to solve the problem, or if I need to do something more extensive.

I'm attaching photos of the blue screens I received:

So any idea what's going on here, and would a factory reset solve it?

Thanks,

-Brett

Hello Brett,

By factory reset do you mean a clean installation of Windows.

1. Copy any dmp files from C:\Windows\Minidump onto the desktop.
2. Select all of them, right-click on one, and click on Send To> New Compressed (zipped) Folder.
3. Upload the zip folder using the More Options tab, Choose File then the Upload a File tab.
