Hi Geeks to Go Friends !

 

I have 64gb memory on my Samsung Galaxy 6 edge plus phone and 34gb of available space. Of course I don't want to use all the space. I was about to copy all 764 cool jazz songs from my Windows 10 desktop to my smartphone so I can listen to them whenever I want and especially in the car on the way to work via bluetooth.

 

However before I do that, I thought I best check with the Pro's !   Will they even fit on the phone (how much memory will they take?) or perhaps there is a better solution that won't cost me a monthly fee?  (I have a free 1gb dropbox which is all but used up)...

 

I'm sure this is the easiest question of the day but I sincerely appreciate your help!

Try this: In Windows' file Explorer (press [Winkey][E]), click the first song in the list to highlight it, scroll down and [Shift]-click the last song. All of the songs between those two should now be highlighted. Now right-click any one of those highlighted files, select Properties and it will show you the total size of all those files.

To know how much these songs size is all you have to go to the folder these songs are located to>then press "Ctrl+A"(it will select all the songs)>then right click on any of the songs then go to the properties. That will show you the total size of all the songs.

 

764 is actually a very big number and if we assume the size of 1 song is 3mb, then 3x764=2292mb i.e 2.3gbs. So of course, you can transfer all these songs to your phone.

Note: Pressing [Ctrl][A] in a folder will highlight ALL of the files in that folder

. . . which would be fine of course if your song files are the only files in that folder.
