An interesting question well, there are some manual ways to repair it which you need to follow and also know how to avoid such situations again and again.

Follow these ways to get back your proper VHD file:

1. Create Virtual Server

2. Use Windows Powershell Command.

Avoid this again in future by following simple practices:

a) Install & update antivirus on regular basis.

b) Clean disk on weekly basis.

c) Use UPS for the desktop to avoid an abrupt shutdown.

You can try the below steps to repair VHD file manually.

At your system right-click on My Computer icon and click on Manage.
2. In a new window click on Disk Management under the Storage.
3. Go to right-hand side, in area of Actions. Click on More Actions > option shown below Disk Management. Click on Create VHD in the options.
4. On Create and Attach Virtual Hard Disk window, find the path for saving new VHD file and name it. And provide the file and virtual hard disk format, either Dynamically expanding or Fixed size. Click OK.
5. After a while, the virtual hard disk (VHD) file will be created at the location defined earlier.

You can use Windows PowerShell to Repair inaccessible or Corrupt VHD File:

The commands you need to run are given below:

#First we choose what VHD we want mounted

$VHD NAME= "v:\server.vhd"

# Get the MSVM_Image Management Service

$VHD Service = get-wmiobject -class "MSVM_Image Management Services"
-namespace "root\virtualization" -computername "."

#Now we mount the VHD

Result = $VHDService. Mount ($VHD Name)
