HI!!

Im new to this forum, and am in need of some expert assistance?

Basically my old desktop packed up which incidently had some important files on the hard drive. Ive got a laptop now and ime left with the hard drive from the old computer.

Today I went and bought an external hard drive box, so i thought i could connect my old hdd via USB or Firewire...

ive connected it all up and i hear the thing powering up but XP doesnt even recognise its existence..ive tried both USB and firewire and simply nothing happens.

please help...many thanks
