Hi All,

Naturally, I've come here needing some Greatly Appreciated HELP!  And Many Thanks to any and all that may be able to provide it!

I have an HP Pavilion a1410n AMD athlon 64

I was using Windows 7 for quite a long time... but recently have had some problems. (@2weeks ago) - It quickly got Progressively Worse

I kept getting Blue Screens and Crashes.  I tried System Repair/System Restore/ Safe Mode/ Installation Disk to Repair/ but nothing seems to work in terms of getting the computer up and running again.... Just before it Crashed I ran CHKDSK - without any problems found ?

It starts to boot but when it gets to the Windows Loading the Funny Little Squiggly Lines on Start UP... it just crashes....

I also tried using other HD's and it won't boot up..

If you need any more details, I will try to provide them - However; when I use the Installation Disk to Install a Fresh Installation of Win 7 - I am getting this message:
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Edit Windows boot options for: Windows Setup

Path:\ windows\system32\ boot \ winload.exe

[ /MININT/REDIRECT/RDIMANAGEOFFSET=8192 RDIMANAGELENGTH=3161088 RDPATH=mutli(0)disk(0)cdrom(0)\sources\boot.wim]

ENTER=SUBMIT                                                                                                                                                                          ESC=CANCEL

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I press ENTER but it goes back to the same thing ?!

Could this be the message of the Problems and to Possibly fix it? and if so... Please can you Provide some Very Plain English Detailed Instruction on how to do this?

Thanks, Everyone!

It looks like you boot files are corrupt. We can try a couple of things. First of all do you need any files or anything on the computer or would you prefer to perform a new clean install? If not then we can try some other fixes to rebuild your boot files. Let me know which option you prefer and I will provide further guidance.

Thank You for your reply,  dmccoy

I was hoping to save the information on the HD... it is quite important to me...  so in that regard - I would like to rebuild boot files.

If it's a problem with the Computer - and not the HD - Perhaps, I can put in another HD to fix it - then reinsert the HD that I have my files on - Do you think that might be an option and safer route to try?  As I had mentioned - I had tried another HD that was working and that too failed to boot to OS.

*It's very likely that the HD(S) I have, Had previous windows installations - but with Fresh Copies of Win. with the Partition(S) formatted- and with only 1 Partition on them.

I had read a couple of threads on what I believe you might be proposing: ( though I'm not sure if one of these commands might be what you have in mind)

https://support.micr...-startup-issues

I believe I can get to the CMD Prompt using the Disk - but i'm not sure what command(S) to enter - and sometimes, I'm a bit confused when I see the Command if there are spaces or not?

So maybe you can
1. let me know what you think about using the Dummy HD to try to rebuild the Boot Files....
2. Let me knot what to enter in the CMD after I start it ( I think the 1st cmd might be " Bootrec.exe " then enter).

Thanks again!

The repairs should not affect your files but it is a good idea to backup your files first. Please see the following link for guidance.
