I'm running Windows 10 on a 64 bit operating system, x64-based processor

I just noticed this problem the other day. I was trying to open Task Manager and it gave me an error saying it couldn't find it. Then I was trying to download a picture from an email and it gave me the same error. I have Bitdefender installed, but I can't get it to run. I tried to download MalwareBytes and I couldn't open it, said it couldn't be found. I tried following instructions on this forum, but I can't get anything to work. Can't open anything I download. Can't download FRST.

I'd be so grateful for any help!

Do you have access to another computer that you can use to download any tools that we might use to work on your infected machine ?  You will also need to have a USB drive, that we can use to transfer those tools to your infected machine ?

If you do ....

  • Download FRST64 using the good computer, and transfer it to the Desktop on your infected computer using a USB drive.
  • Double click Frst64.exe to launch it.
  • FRST will start to run.
  • When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press the Scan button.
  • When finished scanning 2 logs will open on your Desktop, FRST.txt and Addition.txt
  • Please post them in your next reply.

It's been 2 days since I posted instructions for how you might possibly be able to run a scan with FRST, do you still need help ?

If I don't hear back from you within the next 48 hours I will assume you no longer need assistance with your problem, and will close this topic.
