Sorry to hear your new computer is not working as well as you hoped. We do not know anything about your system. Provide the make and model. Did you test it before performing the updates and it performed the same? Also have you tried removing any of the crapware that may have come installed with the system. Please describe what all is slow in more detail.

Perform the following steps to provide some more information.
 
Step 1:
Speccy
Download Speccy to your desktop

1. File > Publish Snapshot. This saves your snapshot to their servers
2. Copy and Paste the link to your next Reply


Step 2:
Download MiniToolBox and save it to your desktop

• Right click on program and select Run as Administrator
• Select to Run All options
• Click Go and wait patiently
• After it completes (a reboot may be needed)
• MTB.txt will be saved on your desktop
• Upload MTB.txt file to your next reply

Step 3:
1. Click on Start menu
2. Type in command
3. Right click on Command Prompt in list and select Run as Administrator
4. Copy and Paste the command into the command console

msinfo32 /nfo "%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\msinfo32.nfo"

5. Compress the msinfo32 file to .zip file
6. Upload the msinfo32 file from your desktop
 
Step 4:
CCleaner

I so don't know what or how it works lolz .... things like 'dropbox' etc: I hope I won't  regret buying this - it takes a long time to load, even longer to load from restart I just feel there are things running which need not be ..... (and I don't know if having mcfee anti virus etc is worth keeping - I feel defender would be sufficient ) the computer is HP 19.5" All-in-One Desktop PC C416A - link to features and specifications - I do hope this helps you to help me

Did you go through the CCleaner guide and perform those steps? I recommend cleaning up a few things as the first step. Let me know if any questions and if it is running better after performing the following steps.

 

Step 1:

Remove McAfee Antivirus with the following tool and only use the built-in Windows Defender. For best results run the removal tool in Safe Mode:

Step 2:

Remove the following programs with free version of RevoUninstaller as follows:

 

Ashampoo WinOptimizer 16

IncrediMail 2.5

WildTangent Games

WildTangent Helper

1. From the list of programs double click on The Program to remove
2. When prompted if you want to uninstall click Yes.
3. Be sure the Moderate option is selected then click Next.
4. The program will run, If prompted again click Yes
5. when the built-in uninstaller is finished click on Next.
6. Once the program has searched for leftovers click Next.
7. Check/tick the bolded items only on the list then click Delete
8. when prompted click on Yes and then on next.
9. put a check on any folders that are found and select delete
10. when prompted select yes then on next
11. Once done click Finish.

Step 3:

Restart computer and test

Add RAM if possible
Avoid thermal throttling
Remove animations
Turn off autoupdate on all softwares
