Whenever I plug in my headphones a dialog box comes up asking what I plugged in and the circle next to headphones is always filled in.

Today after for some reason I decided to click the box to make this the defualt setting so the dialog box would not come up again. I unplugged my headphones a little bit later and when I plugged them in again the computer was no longer reading them. I have gone through troubleshooting and changed sound settings, but it appears my computer isn't reading the headphones at all.

Any ideas?
