I'm in need of a new laptop it seems. I've been using an HP Envy TouchSmart Sleekbook 4-1115dx. It was wonky from the get go. Your support person, RKinner, was amazing helping me get it tuned up, but the battery is failing among other things. Time for a new one. My budget is about $1,000, but I'd rather not spend that much if I don't have to. I'm an amateur graphics editor. I have lots of photos so I'd like a decent amount of memory. A reliable wifi adapter would good as would a speedy processor. I use Word and Excel a lot. I looked at the Dell XPS 15 at Best Buy, but it's well over twice my budget. Thoughts? Need more info? And what do you think of 2-in-1s?

Couple for you to look at here and here both are below your maximum budget, each of their specs include an i7 quad core CPU, an SSD, a 1TB HDD for storage and 8GB of RAM, these specs are ideal for software such as Adobe Photo Shop etc.

 

And what do you think of 2-in-1s? 

 

 

They are ok for their intended purpose but they do have limitations, a couple of which rule out this type of computer for your intended use, poor spec such as low amount of memory, dual core CPU and small capacity storage devices, some of them for example only have a 32GB eMMC

Thank you so much for that response.  I greatly appreciate the advice!  It took me awhile to research those and compare to other laptops that were in the running.  I ended up with an equivalent to those you suggested in an HP.  I decided I wanted the num pad more than I realized when I messaged you. I did purchase through NewEgg with a 12 month-no interest card. They had the laptop to me within 24 hours!
