It has been better. The only time over the past few days where I had a slow shutdown was when I ran Windows Update. Go to the full post »

It is a USB keyboard. I have not used Safe Boot in MSConfig. It looks like the program put out a file I will attach it. And by off I mean all of the services I turned off remained off, though I have turned Unckecky back on. Shutdown seems to have gone smoothly this time. I've noticed when it has been giving me problems I get messages on shutdown about task schedule manager not shutting down properly.

Go into the BIOS and look for an option to enable the USB ports on boot, this is something that should always be done with motherboards that do not have PS/2 ports for a wired keyboard and mouse, if you don`t enable them and you have issues that need the use of a keyboard on boot you are up the creek without a paddle.

Try Safe Boot in MSConfig

No file attached.

And by off I mean all of the services I turned off remained off, though I have turned Unckecky back on.

Acknowledged but is the computer still slow shutting down.

I have no idea how to get into the BIOS. I've attached the file. I have only shut the computer down once since I ran the program so I do not have enough information to say it is going slow.

Noticed any difference yet!

Your log show that some repairs were needed but nothing that you would expect to affect shutting down times.

I think it is about as good as it can be for now.

I just noticed that the clock on my computer was a couple of minutes off of the correct time. I opened the clock up to correct the time and it says that crypto prevent (a program I downloaded a while ago on a suggestion from someone here) has blocked timedate . cpl. Know anything about that?

Going off topic is frowned upon, you need to start a new thread if you need assistance with anything else.

It may help if in your OP you include a link to the thread at which it was suggested that you install such a program.

You have previously stated that the computer was running better but now appear to be suggesting the opposite, nothing that has been done in this thread would explain what you are now describing and at no time in this thread was it suggested that you install crypto prevent, something that you have suggested in your new thread.
