Hi,

 

We've had this problem before.  To view email the first couple of letters are cut off.   Inbox....box   Spam.....am etc.  Also reading reviews on Amazon. The first few letters are cut off. 

 

Hubby recalls it being an easy fix, but he can't remember all the steps, once he was in advanced Google settings.

Thank you!  We already tried that. (On advanced setting he did a "refresh" the first time and that fixed the problem.)  It does NOT work this time around! 

 

Side note.....We don't have this problem using Internet Explorer and Firefox.  So this is just on Google, which is our "go to"

Do you mean the Google Chrome web browser or the Google.com search-engine web site?

It would have to be......Google.com search-engine web site.  The problem is with our email and Amazon reviews, so far that we have noticed.

Hi,

 

Just picture going into your email. Instead of seeing Inbox...you see box.   Spam....am.  Or you check a review on Amazon and the first 2 letters for the review are not showing, on every line below it. Just the first 2 letters!!   

 

We shall just live with the problem!

Sounds like you are using the Google Chrome browser to surf different web sites and for some reason the pages are shifted a couple of characters to the left.

 

Does it help if you press [Ctrl][-] (control minus) to make the page smaller? And [Ctrl][+] will make it larger.

 

What happens if you press [F11]? Press it again to toggle it back off. Is it centered now?

That worked!!  I will write this down and hope we never have this happen again!!  We thought it was an easy fix and that somebody would help!! 

 

We can't thank you enough!!!   (He's going to be so surprised, when he comes on here!!  Yeee Haaa!!)    F11 did the trick!!

Uhmmm...I stand corrected!  F11 "works" to get it back to where it's suppose to be, <sigh> but it doesn't stay there if you hit it again . It just goes back to missing the first 2 letters... DRATS!!  So close and I can't thank you enough for your time!!  I shall now go and hide!! 

 

Oh and the Control - and +  didn't make it work!

Up at the top right of the window is a little X on a red button. Just to the left of that is a button with a couple of little squares overlapping each other. What happens if you click that button?

Hi,  

 

When my husband got home he thought that if  it was rebooted after pressing F11 that it would  stay put and sure enough that did it!!  So it's truly fixed now!
