I'm finding that Kaspersky keeps conflicting with Firefox (on certain pages I get the message "a script for Kaspersky protection is causing firefox to slow down" and I either have to stop the script or simply disable Kaspersky before going to certain pages - which isn't ideal). My Kaspersky runs out in less than a week and I'm looking and trying something different. Any suggestions?

Hello cleanprophet,

You do not actually need a third party AV when running Windows 10 as Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 come with an improved Windows Defender, it offers the same real-time anti-virus/anti-malware protection as Microsoft Security Essentials.

Removal tool for Kaspersky here

Once Kaspersky has been uninstalled, make sure that Windows Defender has auto enabled and then have it check for updates and do a full scan.

NB: If any AV product that you have is a paid for version you should always make sure that you have a copy of the product key kept somewhere safe just in case you ever wish to reinstall it

Hi phillpower2,

Are you sure that bit defender or windows defender is actually that good?  I changed to kaspersky because I kept getting virus's and other malware and yet I was not going into sites that I was not supposed to, yet the windows defender was not doing the job.  I put kaspersky on my laptop and bam all gone and no virus's again for the last 5 years.  I also sometimes use malware bytes to check every 6 months to make sure, and nothing completely clean.

My suggestion is go and turn off the feature in kaspersky "inject script into web traffic to interact with web pages".  To do this, please go and open up Kaspersky > Settings > Additional > Network  (Network Settings) > and uncheck  inject script into web traffic to interact with web pages.  Its under traffic processing.

Please let me know if this has helped.
