my trial period is over and I can't afford to pay for microsoft office, so I would like to install OPEN OFFICE ... at the same time, I want to uninstall microsoft office.

can someone help me get this done? I have microsoft on my ssd and it's taking up room I could use for something else.

Did you try Control Panel > Programs and Features?

yes, I did, but it's not in the list of installed programs

not sure if it would be listed under something else. I don't see office, microsoft office, or anything of that nature

What version of Office are you using? You might try reinstalling. Then uninstall through control panel. After removing rerun the cleanup tool from above.

I think that I've figured it out, I'm on Win10 ... I just go to the 'aps' and right click and select uninstall ... they are gone

Good job. Didn’t even think about it being an app.

thanks, it didn't work with that link you provided and to be truthful, I was right-clicking on the 'app' in the left hand column above the start button to see if I could view it's properties ... and then I noticed the 'uninstall' button. thought I'd try it. who knew? right?

thanks for your help friends!

Format the whole drive if the above techniques are not working because it is the only way out to remove MS Office software kit.

Hi Moondog830,

Uninstalling MS Office depends on where it was installed from.  It really does help that Windows 10 has two different places to uninstall programs and things that appear in one don't always appear in the other.

Typically apps downloaded from the Microsoft store usually appear in the apps & features (start > search app & features), they don't always appear in programs and features in control panel).

Go on search panel in the bottom-left corner of the window and search for uninstall the program.

Now click on the result and you will see a new window from the control panel, there will be a list of software installed on your system. From there look for MS Office and right click on it.

Select Uninstall program and click yes as confirmation to uninstall it.

The way is simple i.e go to Control Panel>Uninstall a Program>Click on Microsoft Office and in the end click on Uninstall button at the top. If in case it shows can't uninstall this program than restart your system and repeat the procedure, it will be definitely uninstalled.
