I'm planning to do some traveling from US to Europe and Honduras, and I want to be able to receive and send text messages and voice calls as seamlessly as possible, i.e. without having to change SIM cards or phone numbers, etc.  Ideally, my traveling shouldn't be noticeable to the person on the other end of the phone or texts.

 

Any suggestions on which US carrier or phone to use?

The Satellite Phones are best for traveling, as Spyware said, Also if you are looking for an alternate network which will work in multiple destinations. Then "Vodafone Roam Further Package" can be a good choice as it does work in more than 104 Destinations.

Hi travelingeek, I'm also a traveling geek
I use T-Mobile, they have an unlimited international data plan that works rather well.  Tried it in Europe, Canada, Mexico, and Bahamas since I switched to them.
No sim card switch, and it works seamlessly as you required, but it was a little hokey in the Bahamas.

If you are on a Verizon network they have a couple plans that look pretty good. I'm going to Germany and France next year. My 1st trip so I don't know what to expect so I'm considering their Travel Pass option.
