Hi.

I created recovery DVDs for Dell Laptop. I no longer  need the information they contain, and want to erase the Disks.

When I click 'Format' I get the messaage, 'The dick is write protected'.

How to over-come this please ?.

Thank you.

Hello Lighton,

I created recovery DVDs

Not all types of DVD disk can be formatted and re-used, what type of disk are you trying to format, DVD-R or DVD-RW.

My apologies. I should have stated. They are DVD-RW.

Have you seen the guide here

If following the steps at the link does not help I would suggest that you try formatting the disk/s on another computer, if you can format them on another computer you may have a problem with the disk burner that you are presently trying to use.
