The title pretty much says it all. When I hit the power button the screen comes up and says "Acer Explore Beyond Limits" and then, after about 2 seconds, it crashes. It is fully charged and plugged in. Anybody have any idea about how to get this thing to boot up?

Thanks

Hi LollyGagin,

A few things, what windows do you have?
Have you installed anything new before this happened?

Is your battery in the computer or on outside?

I know I have Windows 10 but, I am not sure which version. Since the cursor is gone, I'm not sure how I would navigate to somewhere to find out which version I have.

Right before this happened, I installed Wireshark and some file comparison software. Another thing I did almost immediately before the cursor disappeared was boot into the bios. I was just wanting to verify that the instructions I found online for getting into the bios were correct because I wanted to know that I had the option of changing boot priorities. I didn't think I actually changed anything in the bios but it was right after this that my cursor disappeared.

The battery is not accessible from the outside. It is on the inside.

Thank u.

Oh! I almost forgot. I'm not sure which program I installed came bundled with Avast but, it did get installed too. I uninstalled it and went back to Windows Defender.

I cannot seem to find a "follow this topic" tab.

Further, I am starting to wonder if I might b dealing with a hardware issue rather than a Windows 10 issue.

There are two blue lights on the front of the case. If the laptop is fully charged, I can hit the power button and nothing happens whether it is plugged in or not. If the battery is fully drained and it is plugged up, then when I hit the power button, Windows boots as far as the screen where they usually ask if u like the picture on the screen. But, the question is not present and neither is the password box. Even if I click the mouse buttons, the password box will not show up as it used to when I clicked the mouse. There also is no cursor on this screen. Shortly after Windows boots this far, the screen turns black.

This problem started shortly after I booted into the bios to see whether it would give me a boot priority menu. When I went to leave the bios, a question came up asking me whether or not I wanted to save changes. I didn't think I made any changes but, I selected "no" thinking that if I had accidentally made any changes, they would b erased.

Thanks.

Ok. I have it booting up now. Still missing the cursor, though. There are no options for mice available in the device manager. How do I proceed using only the keyboard?

Thanks.

Are you using a USB mouse or the notebooks touchpad, if the touchpad;

Have you checked in the BIOS to make sure  that the touchpad has not been disabled.

Please do not post inside another members topic, your computer issue/s may appear to be the same but be completely different + your request for assistance may be overlooked, staff and members will check a topic that has yet to receive a reply but they may not if it appears that assistance has already been offered to the OP.

Thank you for your understanding.
