My Brother MFC-J690DW all-in-one printer/scanner/fax scans properly but will not allow me to save the scanned document to my PC.

When I try to save a scanned document, I receive an error message that I do not have permission to save this document to my HP Pavilion p7-1080t PC. I am the only one who has access to this PC with Windows 10.

Hi there,

It seems strange that you have this problem. Do you mind telling me where you're trying to save the scanned document? On your desktop? In a folder somewhere else?

The only workaround that I can think of off the top of my head is to run the scanner app on your computer as an admin. To do this, right click on the app and select run as administrator. You shouldn't have any problems with admin privileges after doing that.

Thanks for your reply.

I tried to save it to both my Desktop and a folder in My Documents, nothing worked. I tried running the app as an Administrator and that did not work either. The exact error message says, "Access denied. You do not have permission to save files in this folder."

I get this same error message whenever I try to save scanned files in my PC, even when running the app as an Administrator; very frustrating!
