My SSD is 256 GB and my HDD is 1TB ...

Here's the rub ... my SSD is almost totally full and I don't know why.

I also would like to know if someone could help me move stuff from the SSD drive to the HDD by telling what is safe to move and the best way to do this.

Let me know what info you need from me and I'll get it to you asap!

Sometimes doing a disk clean up might help, and maybe uninstalling things that you have on your SDD and reinstalling it on your HDD?

But I am thinking a disc clean up may help.

Can we assume your HD is in a case you can plug in to the laptop?

Start by uninstalling any programs you don't use. That will clear off some space. After that, it's really up to you. Usually what gets moved is pictures, videos, documents, etc. You can not move programs. Programs are uninstalled and reinstalled and you really should keep them on the main SSD.

@KiwiProbie ... did the Disk Clean Up and it didn't give me much at all

@123Runner ... both the SSD and the HDD are on the laptop (I assume that is why the laptop didn't come with a CD/DVD reader/writer) ... but both drives are on the laptop.

I've put a number of installs on my HDD and they run fine, but I'm not sure what I can take off the SSD to clear up some room. most of the folders don't scream 'program'

at me

Get a disk cleaner to clean the SSD. If it doesn't work, please try the minitool partition wizard to copy the stuff from SSD to HDD. It is free and safe.

I think you just have to set up a good cleaner and antivirus.
