Just wondering do I really need page file active on my system?  I do play a lot of games, watch vids, and browse the net.

Yes, generally speaking it's essential for smooth running with some programmes.

 

You may be able to get away without one for some programmes if you have a large amount of RAM but the ability to use hard drive space as a temporary substitute for RAM  (although a lot slower than actual RAM) is an important feature of Windows memory management.
