Hhhhhheeeeyyyyyy yooooouuuuu guyyyssss!! (sloth from goonies)

I can probably do this by myself at this point, but, guidance and suggestions is always welcome.

I am looking to upgrade my current computer.

I have:

GPU: GTX 1070 FTW Gaming.
CPU: Intel Core I7-6700k 8M Skylake Quad-core 4.0 ghz LGA 1151

RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16gb 2x8GB

MOBO: ASROCK Fatality Gaming Z170 K6
Storage: Samsung EVO 1tb SSD and a 1TB HDD
Case: Antec twelve hundred (This can be ignored in your answer.)

PSU: I don't even know, I think its 700W + (I don't need guidance or suggestions for this)

OS: Windows 10 Home

I am a gamer looking for the best graphics and performance, as well as a streamer of those games.
I appreciate any insight!

AMD or Intel, doesn't matter, whichever provides the best performance.

Gday heartgrave.

That's a great build and good for another couple of years yet.

For gaming, not worth the expense for the small gain in  performance, I would consider just upgrading the GPU.

Darn, I was looking to upgrade that and give my old stuff to my dad. I was looking at the i9 9900k, the board to go with it and a gtx 2080. I'll do a pcpartpicker to show you my desire when I can get to a pc and update the post.

I hope you have a deep pocket.   Some suggestions for the core parts.

I laughed really hard when I came to this post and seen "I hope you have a deep pocket." I knew right away I was gonna like it.

That was the CPU and motherboard I was looking at. The ram looks good too. I am really, REALLY, iffy/scared to use watercooling. My luck, something would break. I have never used watercooling before either. I have this fan currently, could I just use it? https://www.newegg.c...N82E16835103099

My PSU is actually a corsair tx650. Who knew?!?! HA!

I am going through a medical settlement, and I think I want to spoil myself after everything I went through and computer gaming/building is my hobby. Also, my dad deserves better too. He is getting more and more into gaming in his free time and complains of lag and stuff on World of Warcraft.

If it helps, the RGB colors that illuminate from my computer are not anything special to me, in other words, it won't bother me to have no color. In fact, the way my setup is, my tower is on my left and the tower window is on it's left, so I can't even see inside it. However....I could use a room change.

I feel pretty happy with that build you provided. Is there anything you would change/update/suggest otherwise from there? The PSU may need to be higher with this build, yes?

Also, monitor is 4k 55inch.

Edit: I always think of something else after I post my replies  :bashhead:  :bashhead:  :bashhead:

What is the difference between the 2 cards shown here:

https://www.newegg.c...N=-1&isNodeId=1

And the one you put in the build? They all have the same product numbers so they are the same item, but the prices are so different?!

For the RAM, I am noticing that you suggested the one with 3200 but I found a combo with the same RAM but at 3000, which is better?

Combo here:
https://www.newegg.c...t=Combo.3878285

This is the wish list I built on Newegg, ignore the SSD, it'd be for my dad, since he is not getting mine!

This will be a bit hither and thither.

The high priced GPU is Sold by GeekZilla and is identical the the Newegg one.

So glad to find someone who is not bothered about RGB, doesn't make the rig go faster/better, only ups the costs.

The combo deal has a different MB, RAM is still RGB, we can select some without.   When looking at any combo deal, you must price all the items, best prices for any vender, often you get a better deal that way.

A 650w PSU will be more than enough for the build.

Can't view you wish list, it may be private.

Use pcp to configure.   It has a build in PSU calculator. current build is at 339w

Here you go, try this one.

https://secure.neweg...620190117044625

Why I try looking, it makes me log in, but it is all public.

If you go to the CPU only on Newegg, it gives you an option to pick between the motherboard in the combo and the motherboard you told me.

Again, RGB is no matter to me, but my color scheme is blue.

I can get to the public wish lists, but can't find yours.

The Cooler Master evo you have is not good enough for an 8 core CPU.

Makes me nervous using water cooling. Does it come with the liquid?

My wish list is called "Mine New" I provided the link above.

Here is what I picked:
https://www.newegg.c...t=Combo.3878285

https://www.newegg.c...N82E16814487403

I'll order the liquid cooler from Corsair, it's $100 cheaper.

What about my RAM question: "For the RAM, I am noticing that you suggested the one with 3200 but I found a combo with the same RAM but at 3000, which is better?" Essentially, the one you provided is not part of the combo, but the 3000 is.

The cooler comes as a sealed unit, no messing about with liquids yourself.   You do have to check that it will fit into your case.   Possible alternative would be the Noctua https://www.newegg.c...=9SIAADY44C6006

The RAM may be OK, will have to check the compatibility lists, let you know later as going out today.

What page number is your wish list on?

You enjoy your outing! Be safe as well!

The RAM may be ok? It's part of the combo made by Newegg. Now my curiosity is asking, "Why wouldn't it be?"

What page? I don't even know. You can't click on the wishlist link I posted above? So odd. I changed the name of it to your name " iammykyl"

Your wish   list link just goes > https://secure.newegg.com/Wishlist/PublicWishlists

Here is your combo deal, $6 cheaper, > https://www.newegg.c...t=Combo.3878249+ $15 mail in rebate.

MB user manual > https://www.asrock.c...ndex.asp#Manual

The RAM is on the support list.   Newegg have a disclaimer on there combo deals that parts are not guaranteed to be compatible.

Please go to cpp, click on edit this parts list;  add your addition parts then copy the permalink on the left, paste into your next reply.

Did you check if the water cooler will fit in your case?

Since PCP says that they are not sure if my case and that fan are compatible, I wouldn't know how else to check.

I am getting him the Samsung EVO 1tb ssd.

That fan looks to be the close to the same one I currently have and that one fits with plenty of clearance.

Do I need a new PSU?
