I have a Samsung Galaxy S5. It's a brilliant phone, I've never had any problems with it. But I do use it for banking and contactless payments etc. so it needs to be secure.

I recently learned that Samsung have discontinued the updates for this model. A quick look on Google reveals that I should now buy a new phone, to ensure security. I try to 'Reduce, Reuse, Recycle' as much as possible and there's nothing wrong with my phone, it seems wasteful to just throw it out (not to mention expensive to buy a new one!).

Do I really need a new phone?? Or can I achieve good security with software instead?

Thanks for any advice :spoton:

Wow, thanks for that! I have just spent a few hours re-educating myself in the world of security. Will be implementing some of this for sure.
