I'm looking to really tidy up my cables and there's always been one question that's really got me thinking.
A cable goes from A to B, but what do you do with the leftover cable thats left loose, and is the loose cable better to be left at A (the peripheral like the monitor) or B (the back of the PC)?

 

Any tips and tricks, recommended videos, picture references are highly appreciated.

You might want to leave some slack at both ends so that you can move the computer or monitor without having to disconnect the cables.

 

You can get velcro like material to wrap around the cables so that you can remove it easily. Harbor Freight sells a version which comes in a roll and you can cut it to the length needed. There are also cable wraps which work a bit better, but are much more expensive and not worth it in my opinion. You can bundle the cables together as well, but you should separate power from the data cables.

I use the velcro as Kemasa stated. It works great. I keep slack at both ends. One thing you don't want is the weight of the cables hanging from the computer, printer, monitor, etc. The weight will cause additional stress on the cable and the connection. I have my additional cable lengths behind my desk so it looks clean at the connections.
