My computer randomly freezes, sometimes several times a day, and sometimes it will run all day without freezing.

Is there someway I can tell what is causing the freezing?

It hasn't always done this.  I am running 2 antivirus, Avast Internet Security and Malwarebytes Premium.  These have run successfully together for a few years now.

Thanks.

Hey JBatten,

Theres your problem, your running 2 antivirus's.  You only need ONE.  Please remove one of them and let us how it is working out for you.

Stopped Avast and didn't change anything.  I've been running both for some time and had no issues before the past few months.

Now I've stopped Malwarebytes and will see what happens.

Windows 10 comes with Windows antivirus built in. It is very good antivirus. You should never have 2 antivirus programs running on a computer. They will not only fight for resources but will wipe out each others signatures.

Completely uninstall 1 of them and see what happens.

I have never seen windows built in av fully work, also not again rootkits etc.

That is why I don't use it. I used a different AV (KTS) and takes over everything and I trust the software, I don't trust windows 10 av.
