Best Answer librarianonloan , 27 March 2019 - 11:31 PM

I got it to work by using Minitool Partition Wizard. Thanks for your time. Go to the full post »

(WIN7Pro) I've tried to clone a 2TB HDD with <300GB of data onto a 750GB HDD. I've used Macrium Reflect and EaseUS Backup. Both seem to clone correctly, but when I try to boot from the cloned HDD, it fails. Both HDD are formatted MBR.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Hi  this does happen from time to time  A good first step is to use the Macrium wizard to create a boot disc (which comes with repair tools,) boot from it and use the tools to repair your cloned hard drive.

In any event you should have created the repair disc as it may well be needed in the future.

That's good to hear

Remember to keep your Macrium Emergency Boot disc safe and somewhere handy for the future
