It is possible...

However it is fairly deeply embedded in the Win 10 operating system and its removal (or attempts to remove it) could lead to system instability and other problems.

There are third party  tools downloadable from the Internet that might help with an uninstallation, but  I don't generally recommend them.

A relatively safe course of action if you genuinely dislike Microsoft Edge, would be to leave it in place but just don't use it...

Whatever you decide to do, make sure that your disc images are all up to date, reproducible, and with several copies on different media with at least one copy kept safe on removable media offline. Macrium Reflect free version is good for this and has a fine reputation, and also an excellent wizard for creating an emergency boot and repair disc.(jolly useful should Windows not load at any time in the future due to software or operating system issues.)

Hey ding dong,

I agree with paws, don't remove edge, just to be honest the safe side.  Just install the browser that you want to use and set it as default.  I too don't like edge and I have been using firefox for a while and just set it as my default.

The only real way around it is get you favourite browser and set it as default, then it should be out of sight out of mind.
