Thanks a million for all your guidance and assistance.  I don't know what I'd do without your help.

Hi RKinner

Comp guy came last night and had a look.  He changed the OS to Win 10.  Says adding RAM need not be done.  We've been his client for the past 18 years and I didn't want to argue with him.  Comp considerably faster now.  Hoping to get a new laptop within 6 months with more RAM this time.

Do you think this will do or do I have to run some more apps so that you are completely satisfied and close this thread?

Thanks a lot, once again.

PS.  He's added AnyDesk to my desktop and wants to connect remotely in case I have further issues.  Methinks he is jealous of Geekstogo.

If you are happy with it then that's fine.    You might want to install Classic Shell.

http://www.classicshell.net/

It will make your Win 10 look and act more like Win 7.

I also like to run Shutup10 to cut down unneeded network traffic.

Download OOSU10.exe:

https://www.oo-softw...com/en/shutup10

Download and Save it (You will get a popup while it's downloading.  You can X out of it)
then Right click and Run As Admin.
Allow it to make a System Restore Point.
Click on Actions then on Apply Recommended Settings.

Close the program and reboot.

After each major update it's wise to rerun the program and Revert the changes.

As for AnyDesk I would prefer that it not run all the time.  Better to just fire it up when you call him.
