Probably about as good as we can expect.

 

I'm not seeing anything that shows it's slow.  Sometimes Windows updates over time will mean the system needs more memory.  We usually recommend 8 GB for a 64 bit system.  You only have 4.  You will usually only notice that it takes a lot longer to boot.

 

We can run MBAR to rule out a hidden rootkit that I can't see:

Not particularly. I think you named the real problem, not enough RAM. It is GOOD TO KNOW that I don't have any viruses or malware.

One more possibility.  CPUs will slow down if they get hot in order to protect themselves.  Speccy said yours ran at 52 which is a bit high for a desktop but Speccy tends to read high.

Download, save and Install it (Win 7+ or Vista right click and Run As Admin.) then run it (Win 7+ or Vista right click and Run As Admin.).

It will tell you your temps in real time tho the default is to show the hard drive temp in the systray.  You can change it:  Hit Configure then click on the highest temp and check Show in tray.  With no other programs running what is the highest temp you see?  Run an anti-virus scan, play one of your games or watch a video for at least 5 minutes.  What is the highest temp now?
 

We don't really want it to go over about 65 under load.  If it does it usually means either the fan is defective (speedfan should tell you your fan speed so you can see if it is running) or (most likely) the interface between the fan and the heatsink is clogged with dust. The best fix for a clogged heatsink is to remove the fan (not the heatsink or heatpipe or you will need to replace the thermal paste) and vacuum out the heatsink.

Highest temp with no other programs running is 51.

After watching a video for 5 minutes, highest temp is 57.

I think my best move is to upgrade RAM.

Desktops normally run below 50 - usually closer to 45 - so you probably do have some dust build up.  Won't hurt to clean it as long as you do not dislodge the heatsink.

You currently have only 2 slots available and both filled.  Turns out you have 6 GB total both PC3-12800 (800 MHz).  Most new PC3-12800 is 1600 MHz.  If you just get one new one it should go in slot #1 then move the one in slot #1 over to slot #2.  We have a e-cycle place here in town that sells used RAM much cheaper than new but not everyone has such a store tho e-bay probably has some pulls.   DDR4 RAM is what is used for new PCs.  It won't fit in your slots.

When working with RAM, do not touch the gold pins.  Handle them by edges and always ground yourself before touching them.  Make sure PC is off and not asleep.  Make sure RAM is fully seated.
