Hi!

Calling all Linux geeks please!

I'm looking at buying a Windows Surface 2 (I love the specs for my graphic design business) BUT I am also considering moving away from the Windows operating system. I find it nauseatingly slow and cannot afford a Mac.

My brother feels that if I buy a Windows machine, there will likely be systems built into the laptop that will stand in my way of moving to freeware systems, should I choose to do so. Is he right? Should I avoid Windows hardware at all costs if I want to potentially move away from the Windows OS?

Thanks in advance! :)
