Hi

Is the new Browser "Brave" good to try out?  Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, it's "good to try out". https://www.google.c...Q4dUDCAo&uact=5

Do keep in mind though that most everyone has their own opinion.

Depends on what you want from it ?

I've used it as a second browser for a while, and it suits me in that role. It's not as configurable as Firefox (my primary browser), but it does have a number of out of the box security/privacy features that I find useful at times.

Thanks Gary.

That's what I'm trying to use it for too.

Basically there's 3 browsing modes with Brave ...

  • Normal ... adblocker, beacon blocker, fingerprint blocker, cookie control, https everywhere, script blocking ..... configure as you wish.
  • Private ... as above but deletes all cookies and history when you end session.
  • Private with Tor ... uses Tor browser to connect, for added privacy.

But for a better idea of its capabilities see .... https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us

Only one note of criticism about Brave ...... the Uninstaller isn't very good, and leaves a lot of Registry orphans ..... so if you do install it, and at some future point want to uninstall it, then use something like RevoUninstaller or GeekUninstaller to remove it.

I have been wanting to try this out for ages. I heard a lot of great things about it but also heard that a lot of websites are being blocked when using brave, does anyone have any comments on this?

Yes, it's quite a good one if to compare it with chrome and firefox especially. But if you look for a total privacy - try Idyll from Utopia ecosystem. It's more like Tor which allowsyou to browse anonymously and create the websites that can't be accessed from any other browser. Future with anonymous browse is here already :)
