I have been having problems installing driver for HP All-inOne 1400 series.  I have tried it twice and install stops at final step.  Here is the link: https://support.hp.c...53/model/436433

No luck yet, but a technician has advised me to do a custom install only installing the driver and not any extras. Before I proceed your comments would be appreciated.

That is sound advice, you usually don't need all the extra software anyway.

Thanks

I tried again to do an install, but nowhere in the documentation shows a "Custom Install" only a "Recommended" installation

i Managed to install HP 1400 series All-in-One by merely connecting printer to laptop via USB cable and Windows recognized it and downloaded the appropriate driver.  It is a bare-bones version but, operable.

Problem has arisen using basic driver for 1410 series printer (HP EasyStart 7_5_3599_24).  It seems the printer will only print pictures that originate on Microsoft Word.  In other words, if I try to print photo directly from the photo nothing happens.  However if I past photo on Microsoft Word page the printer prints the pic to the size that I dictate.
