Hi,

Windows 10 put in a new Update and now I get a message:

Display Driver failed to start (full notice attached)

Prior to this Update I never received this message and the monitor, although it is a few years old, has been working fine.

Help

Regards

OK windows is up to its silly tricks again.

Started up today and no pop up messages. See photo in first message.

However the screen size is now wrong.

The is too long horizontally. I checked the usual 'how to change screen size but now it shows only two options:

1024 X 768(Recommended) or 800 x 600.

Regards

Hi,

I have never done that before so could you tell me what to do?

I am a better photographer than a computer person.

Hi,

I downloaded the new driver file from https://www.dell.com...?driverid=yg341

but when I installed it I got a warning message to say it had failed.

My apologies for being a pain and giving you a hard time over this.

Hi,

I went there and downloaded the driver.

After installing it I got a pop up stating that the computer didn't have the right resources.

As I had a bit of work that had to be done and delivered I took the chance and Restored back to the System before the Update.

At least for now I have the screen back to it's proper size and the work has been delivered.

Regards

Hi,

I took a survey about why I restored the operating system and was given a web site to visit.

https://support.micr...n-gb/help/12373

Would this mean that I could download some update excluding the Screen?

Hi and apologies for the delay.

I have a reoccurring illness which means that I have irregular spells in the Base Hospital.

Windows Update has come back wanting to do an update.

Do I have to or can I opt out as the computer is working well since the beginning of the original problem.

Or is it ok to use a program like https://greatis.com/...s-stopupdates10

I have not and will not install anything until you guys give me the ok.

Regards

Hi Freebooter,

Many thanks for the reply.

I feel a lot safer if I ask you guys first.
