If running Windows, first press the [PrtScn] (PrintScreen) key. Next open Paint and paste in (press [Ctrl][V]) the screenshot. Now you can save it as a .BMP, .JPG, .GIF, or whatever type of file you prefer.

 

Note that if you only want a screenshot of a single window instead of the entire screen, you press [Alt][PrtScn].

I use print screen extension. It saves time. And it gives you link that you can send to your files. I prefer that. 

Its up to you,whatever suits you best.
