My D drive is missing after i updated my pc to the newest version of windows 10. Not exactly sure why or how to fix this issue and would like some help please. I already reset my pc and that did not help fix anything. Also nothing shows up in disk management either. It's like it just disconnected or something. It's very strange since I did not do any messing around with the drives.

Hello trips487,

Is the drive listed in the BIOS or in Device Manager.

This is not an isolated incident btw, the drive on my notebook is still detected after after updating to Windows 10 but has stopped working, this despite the drives properties in Device Manager saying that it is working properly.

Ok now this is weird. Suddenly the driver has reappeared again after i shut the pc down over night. Not exactly sure what caused this issue but it seems it's fixed so far.  This topic may be closed it need be. Otherwise if it disappears again and I am unable to retrieve the driver I can make a new post or just ask for this thread to be reopened? Do you have any ideas what this could have been and why it's suddendly fixed?

Helped someone a few weeks back with the same issue on a Dell notebook, the drive disappeared after a Windows 10 update, the drive tray would open and close so was getting power, it just wasn`t detected by Windows, user booted up the next day and the drive was back and fully working, odd  :headscratch:

We don`t normally close tech topics so if it happens again you can post back here.
