And I did get Zep's email, as well as seeing both responses here on the forum.

But, shame-faced, I have to say I was going crazy with the helpful instrutions I was getting. Many of the tips assumed I know more tham I do and define solutions in terms I do not understand. For example, iMacg3s advice tells me to go to a users' profile but I  do/did not know know how o that.

Somehow, I seem to have successfully changed my GtG password and) my  (original)  log-in problem is solved; but I would still like to see in one place a listing of all such tasks: go to Profiles, send a Personal Message, change password, etc. Does such a listing exist on the home screen of GtG?l

Thanks for your help.    ...batpark

Each member has a profile to get there find a member and click on there name you will be taken to that members profile where the option to send a Private message (PM) to that member. If you just hole hover your mouse over a users name you should also see the option to "Send Message"

I don't see a page that explains all this.

Thanks

zep516: Many thanks. Let me try to send you a PM.

Problem right off.  How do I see the list of members or otherwise get to your profile? I said I was a greenhorn here!

At the top of a Geekstogo page there will be an option to click on " Members"

If the member is online then you can put your mouse over there name or avatar,,,

To see who's online at the bottom of a Geekstogo page is a list of who is currently online... ypu can hover your mouse over anyone of the names and see options. Clicking on a name immediately brings you to there profile.

To view a member's profile, click on their username. For example, to view my profile you would click on the link outlined in red below:

member2.JPG

To send a PM to the member, click the PM.JPG button on the right pane of the User Profile page.

Hope this helps.
